Each volume is packed with the expectation that it should arrive in the same condition in which it left us.
Rare and collectible books require more care than ordinary retail goods. Packing methods are chosen according to the size, binding, fragility, and value of the individual book.
Processing & Dispatch
Orders are prepared carefully before shipment. Processing time may vary depending on the volume, destination, packing requirements, and whether additional insurance or signature service is appropriate.
Any expected delay beyond the normal preparation period will be communicated when practical.
Packing
Books are protected against movement, abrasion, moisture, and impact using materials appropriate to the individual volume.
Where appropriate, this may include:
- protective wrapping
- archival or acid-free interleaving
- rigid board protection
- corner and edge protection
- appropriately sized boxing
- double-boxing for fragile or higher-value volumes
Dust jackets, slipcases, delicate bindings, and loose or vulnerable components receive additional protection when needed.
Tracking
Tracking information is provided when available through the selected shipping service.
Please allow time for carrier tracking to update after a label has been created.
Domestic Shipping
Domestic orders are shipped using an appropriate tracked service based on the book’s size, value, destination, and packing requirements.
Available methods and final shipping charges are shown at checkout when configured.
Higher-Value Volumes
Higher-value books may require additional insurance, signature confirmation, or another secure delivery service.
Where such measures are appropriate, they may be selected based on the value and circumstances of the shipment.
International Shipping
International shipping may be available to selected destinations.
Availability, carrier options, transit times, customs procedures, and insurance limitations vary by country and shipment.
Customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage charges, or other fees imposed by the destination country unless otherwise stated.
International delivery estimates do not include customs delays.
Combined Shipping
When more than one volume is purchased in a single order, combined shipping may be possible when doing so will not compromise the safety of the books.
Any shipping adjustment will depend on the size, weight, fragility, and packing requirements of the volumes involved.
Damage in Transit
If a shipment arrives with visible external damage, please photograph the package before opening it whenever possible.
If a book appears to have been damaged in transit, please retain:
- the book
- all packing materials
- the shipping carton
- photographs of the exterior package
- photographs of the damage
Contact The Aureate Page as soon as practical so the shipment can be reviewed and any carrier or insurance requirements can be addressed.
